The self-employed in Ireland show the same respect to banks as our parents showed the Catholic Church in the 1950’s claims Irish entrepreneur and author George Mordaunt. Irish businesses need to respond really fast when dealing with banks on the subject of debt forgiveness or they will be crushed. They must learn how to seek debt forgiveness and understand that it’s not an issue that will be advertised by the bank. They must educate and equip themselves so that they qualify for review under the banks’ case by case model. That’s according to Irish businessman and first time author George Mordaunt whose book Shepherd’s Pie, published this week in Ireland outlines the disastrous effect the recession had on his family business, his marriage and his attitude to life.
